An Attack Against One Is An Attack Against All - The Slaughter of Black People Must Be Stopped! By Any Means Necessary!, issued by the Robert Brown Elliott League, 1968-70.

Robert Brown Elliott was a Black British lawyer, born in Liverpool in 1842. He served in the Royal Navy and moved to Boston in 1867 where he proved to be a brilliant lawyer. By March 1869 he was a commanding general of the South Carolina National Guard with responsibility for organising the state militia against the Ku Klux Klan, to protect black citizens. He served as a US Congressman from 1871-74. He died in New Orleans in 1884.

The black panther graphic was an image used by the Black Panther Party.

The Black Panther Party was founded in Oakland California in 1966 by Huey P Newton and Bobby Searle, with the intention of protecting the local black population from police brutality (the party was originally called The Black Panther Party of Self-Defence).

The newspaper of the Party published it's "What We Want Now!" ten-point programme in May 1967:

- We want freedom. We want power to determine the destiny of our Black Community.
- We want full employment for our people.
- We want an end to the robbery by the Capitalists of our Black Community.
- We want decent housing, fit for shelter of human beings.
- We want education for our people that exposes the true nature of this decadent American society. We want education that teaches us our true history and our role in the present day society.
- We want all Black men to be exempt from military service.
- We want an immediate end to POLICE BRUTALITY and MURDER of Black people.
- We want freedom for all Black men held in federal, state, county and city prisons and jails.
- We want all Black people when brought to trial to be tried in court by a jury of their peer group or people from their Black Communities, as defined by the Constitution of the United States.
- We want land, bread, housing, education, clothing, justice and peace.

By 1969 the Black Panthers had set up free health clinics, a school and were providing breakfasts to 10,000 children every day.

By 1970 there were offices in 68 cities and thousands of members, but, plagued by FBI and mainstream media misinformation the party declined - amid infighting and defections.

Racism is deeply entrenched in our societies and cultures, and implanted in our minds—both consciously and subconsciously. It reinforces and perpetuates systemic inequalities, discrimination, and oppression, serving as a tool wielded by the ruling elite and their enablers to divide and control us.

The fight against racism demands relentless effort: continuous learning, recognising and challenging our own unconscious bias, standing up to racists and taking action in favour of justice.

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, born in 2013 following the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer, has grown into a powerful global force advocating for racial justice, equality, collective safety and community-based support.

We support the aims of the BLM movement.

The Radical Poster Collective is dedicated to making good quality classic radical posters available at an affordable price.
